Microprocessor Temperature Regulator

This compact, operational temperature regulator in the plastic housing has various extraordinary features.

The following elements are obvious: possible use of different temperature sensors, self­optimization, an optional serial interface (RS 232 or RS 485), freely configurable, potential­free signal contact, a digital display for nominal value and actual value and so on ...

The following characteristics make the operation of electrical heatings like heating mantles, heating jackets, heating tapes, tube furnaces und heating hoses safer, more comfortable and more economical:

  • Heater powers up to 3450 Watt (at 230 VAC) can be operated directly.

  • The load is switched by a nonwearing electronic relay. The heating is connected by multipole connectors or by cable glands on internal spring contacts.

  • The heating can be operated program­controlled. For this, 6 segments are available where temperature and time settings can be defined.

  • As a result of a deficient electronic relay, the heating might be supplied with current, although the control unit displays „no heating“. As a result, the heating or the product itself can be damaged. Therefore the HT MC1 has a voltage output with a mechanical two­pole relay. As soon as the measured value is more than 20 K (standard value, changeable) higher than the set point value, the heating is cut off mechanically. 

  • In case of higher demands to the operational safety, for example if the heating operates without supervision, an analogue limiting circuit, which is independent from the control electronic, can be used. (standard range 0 ... 450 °C) Therefore, an additional Pt 100 temperature sensor is connected to the HT MC1, which measures the temperature at the critical place. If the set point value is exceeded, the power supply is cut off permanently. Only if the temperature has fallen and after a reset does the heating operate again.

HT MC1 P16

The control system characteristics of this regulator are similar to the HT MC1. It is specially designed for high switching currents in three-phase systems.

Self-Optimizing Microprocessor Regulator

Due to its flexible configurability as two-position, three-position or continuous regulator, the HT 50 is very versatile and user-friendly.

Measured-values inputs for 8 different kinds of thermocouples, resistance thermometers Pt 100 or Ni 100, norm signals 0(4) ... 20 mA or 0 ... 10 V make it suitable for various applications.

All four outputs can be configured as regulating contact, signal contact, limiting contact or limit comparator with variable hysteresis, alarm delay 1 ... 500 s and lock.

In addition to these four control outputs, a programmable analog output for the output of regulation ratio, set-point values, actual values or deviations is available.

External set-point adjustment, ramp function, timer function and working-hour meter are further advantages of this regulator which has an excellent price / performance ratio.

HT 500

HT 50 as Desktop Model

Since the HT 50 regulator is only designed for the integration in control cabinets, we offer an additional desktop model. This model is also ready for the connection and has an earthed socket for the heating and a plug socket for the following sensor inlets at its rear side:

  • thermocouples: Fe-CuNi (J+L), NiCr-Ni (K)
  • resistance sensors: Pt 100 + Ni 100 (3-wire conductor)

The heating current is switched by a solid state relay. Additional safety is achieved by a two-pole switching relay. In case of a deficient solid state relay, the two-pole relay cuts off as soon as the limit temperature is exceeded. Of course, all functions of the HT 50 are available and can be connected, on demand, to the three cable screwings on the rear side.

High­Quality Built­in Regulator with Digital Actual Value Display

This high­quality built­in regulator is easy to handle, has a 3.5­digit actual value display and a very safe PD control system. An additional control or alarm signal broadens the range of possible applications.

The relay has a potential­free working contact. The HT 51 standard model is equipped with an analog set-point adjuster.

HT 52

Self-Optimizing Microprocessor-Regulator

The HT 52 regulator, the smaller version of the HT 50, has a very good price / performance ratio. Due to the configurable measuring and regulating functions, the HT 52 can be used for many applications. A serial interface (RS 232 or RS 485) for the configuration and the transmission of the measured values is a standard feature.

Measured value inputs for 8 different kinds of thermocouples, resistance thermometers, norm signals 0 (4) ... 20 mA or 0 ... 10 V make it suitable for various applications.

All three outputs can be configured as regulating contact, signal contact, limiting contact or limit comparator with variable hysteresis, alarm delay 1 ... 500 s and lock.

Outputs 1 and 2 are equipped with 6 A / 230 V relays. Output no. 3 is a logic outlet. As a result of the very flexible configuration, all common actuators can be connected:

  • contactor (relay output)
  • semiconductor relay (logic output)
  • control valves (2 relay outputs)
